Having said goodbye to 2 cats in the last 18 months this feels like a lovely happy thing for our family

She's 14 and she's never mentioned having any problems. She climbs trees (very mumsnetty ) but she isn't much of a hunter but that might be just her or maybe there isn't much to catch where we live.

thanks all she totally chose us, taking the boys to see her next week but apparently she loves kids so no issues there.

She is lovely. Fortunately we are all safe polydactyl cats have not yet learned to oppose their thumbs, the day one does we are all in trouble.

Oooooo it's like she's wearing winter mittens!

She's lovely - one of my old cats had thumbs - he was a gorgeous long haired ginger tabby.

He used to sit on a wall at the corner of our road to wait for me to come home and he'd talk to everyone going past.

He was the most unbelievably clumsy cat though - he would spend ages eyeing up the jump from floor to chair (so not a big distance), wiggling his bum and getting ready and then he'd completely overshoot it and end up skidding off the other side . He'd pick himself up and pretend that that's what he'd meant to do all along ...

She's beautiful. I love black cats, fabulously velvety fur.

We have two black male cats, both with thumbs. It causes them no problems whatsoever with normal cat things and, thankfully, have proved to be rubbish for world domination. And door opening.
