Gross, sorry - how harmful are flies' eggs to cats?

Try as I might, Mr Cory grazes rather than eats and sometimes in the heat his food gets covered in rank fly eggs before I have had a chance to notice and get rid of it.

This can happen in the half hour between me feeding him and checking the bowl. Basically, the local fly knows when it's feeding time. If little Mr C eats the eggs, will it harm him?

I don't want to give him dry food as he doesn't drink much. It turns my stomach, tho - anyone suggest any other options?

Reluctantly watching for replies. Ugh.

How about giving him a third less and the rest later when he asks for it?, that way he should, in theory, lick the plate clean.

I suppose if they lived wild they'd ingest eggs & worse.

I should think the stomach acid would kill off fly eggs.
