Seniorboy has been yelling at me this afternoon .....

... and I finally worked out what was up by a process of elimination.

He's got used to his sunshine and wants me to quickly rustle up some for him today so that he can laze on his window rug. Hmm

I don't quite know how I could break to him the limitations on my powers. It looks as if he thinks I'm denying it to him on purpose.

Well obviously. If you loved him he'd be sunbathing right now.

RightsaidFreud · 02/07/2014 17:14

Did you manage to rustle some up from somewhere?

chemenger · 02/07/2014 17:17

Nastycat is quite happy to sit under an anglepoise lamp with an old fashioned bulb in it - maybe you could buy him one of those?

Onesleeptillwembley · 02/07/2014 17:23

Useless staff. Grin

cozietoesie · 02/07/2014 18:13

No - I couldn't arrange some sun and he eventually grumped off to his bed. I'm a failure. Sad

How awful for him. Sad he will leave home and move to a house with sunshine if you aren't careful.

chemenger · 02/07/2014 18:19

I really think you should be taking long hard look at yourself and reflect in how you can better meet his very minimal needs.

cozietoesie · 02/07/2014 18:29

I know it, chemenger.

Right, sunlamps it is.

Get yourself onto reptile pet shops online immediately.

cozietoesie · 02/07/2014 23:41

I fear he'd know the difference.

Here he is in some sunshine I arranged earlier.

^^ THIS! Poor Seniorboy, he's not asking a lot. (Btw he's gorgeous!)

darksideofthemooncup · 03/07/2014 01:17

Sooo many cat threads tonight (or I'm just noticing them more) Seniorboy IS gorgeous though

ToffeeWhirl · 03/07/2014 01:47

He is very beautiful, cozie.

Birdsighland · 03/07/2014 03:38

That picture shows what must feel like a perfect moment. They're the epitome of sybaritism aren't they? Entitled little b*ggers

He's beautiful. Love the way you can just see his left whiskers in the shade of his face. Reminds me a little of the languor in 'Flaming June' by Frederic Leighton.

Her Mistyness was yowelling yesterday. My carer worked out what she wanted.

She wanted her tummy rubbing by a human but it had to be outside.

He duly went out and tickled her tummy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2014 08:01

Siamese always look so sophisticated don't they. He is stunning.

I bet he knows it too.

Wolfiefan · 03/07/2014 08:05

Cozie he is sooo gorgeous. Don't siamese shout about lots of things though? This just happens to be the shout of the day!
My senior cat shouts:
For food
For catnip
For her thyroid pills
To go out
To come in
For someone to cuddle her on the bed
For more than one person to cuddle her on the bed
In the cat carrier
Because it is early morning
Because it is late at night
Just because!
Grin

He talks a lot (as they nearly all do) but I'm used to that so I just register it and join in the conversation. Yowling is different.

He very rarely has cause to yowl because I know him so well that I've usually provided whatever it is he's likely to want in advance as per his favoured schedule. I do feel inadequate about the sunshine though. He's currently sitting in the top hall looking pointedly through to the front room where his window carpet is. Gawd help us if there's no sun today.

Pointlessfan · 03/07/2014 08:18

My cat complains to me when it's not sunny too. Plus if it isn't sunny in the living room when we open the curtains he goes upstairs to see if it is sunny in our bedroom. He hasn't figured out that both rooms face the same direction! They are good at letting us know what they want aren't they? Lovely photo btw.

Wolfiefan · 03/07/2014 08:27

I would sooo love a chatty siamese. It sounds like you are well trained.
If you don't sort that sun soon he will start packing. We have sun here! How does he feel about travel?!?!

splendide · 03/07/2014 09:45

I have a very chatty cat, I wonder if there is some siamese in her ancestry (which is mysterious). Like Cozie I have learned I have to talk back.

She also does shouting for sun. She follows it across my bed and then when it moves up the wall she sits at the edge calling me to come and fix it. But I am a poor inadequate so she must suffer.

AbbeyBartlet · 03/07/2014 11:36

My parents' Siamese boy whinges when he can't go out because of the rain! They have tried letting him out but he gets all "precious" about getting his regal little feet wet and keeps picking each paw up and shaking it!
