Can anyone tell me what breed of cat this is?

Is he a mixed breed? Anyone have any ideas?
It's my mums partners cat and he thinks it's a tabby.... I'm thinking he's not. We're thinking a domestic longhair, british longhair or Maine coone mix? What do we think?
He's bloody gorgeous no matter :)

Tabby is a colour, so he is a tabby.

Oh I thought tabby was a shorthair mixed type cat. Oops. Blush
So technically he is correct. But what breed?

The nose is a bit like a Maine coon isn't it?

Possibly some Norwegian Forest in there.

tabulahrasa · 10/06/2014 21:09

Well technically if you don't know his parents, he's a domestic longhair anyway...as it's just what you call cats with no known pedigree with longhair.

I doubt he's got any British longhair in him, they're quite chunky and he's quite pointy.

Maine coon's a possibility I suppose, they're pretty big though, Norwegian forest cats are pointy and fluffy too...still quite big though.

What sort of size is he?

Hobby2014 · 10/06/2014 21:14

He is a big cat. Not fat, but much bigger than my cat who's just a typical tabby coloured shorthair cat. And not just fluff either. Beyond the fluff he's still much bigger. Googling Norwegian forest cat he does look similar.

he doesn't appear to have the tufts on the tips of his ears typical of a maine coon.
He's absolutely gorgeous :D
