Thinking of adopting a cat - have a 9 month old baby - am I crazy?

Hello fellow Cat lovers

Some advice/opinions needed please... so... after ages of wanting a cat I finally plucked up the courage to go and visit the local cat shelter to have a proper investigate. We saw a gorgeous 10 year old black and white moggy called Felix. He took well to me and was very affectionate however him and Jacob did not get on too well. He seemed fine at first but after Jacob pulled out some of his fur when he was having a stroke, felix gave him a little bash - nothing serious but the paw did come out - am now worried that this is not a good sign.... has anyone got cats with a young kid/know of them showing this sign of behaviour and has it improved over time? Not even sure if we will go ahead with getting a cat as we live in rented accommodation so it might not be allowed. There were other cats (they did not all swipe!) so if we do proceed further we might need to consider some of the others as it might just be that the cat we saw today is not the right one? Hmmmm need to give this a proper think!

I think it's a lot to think about, I think I'd get swiped if I pulled my cats fur out.

You'd need to supervise all contact until he's old enough to understand how to treat an animal. This could be exhausting, it's a babies instinct to grab, and put in its mouth, anything it wants to look at.
