Would it be better for koothracat to go into a cattery or have someone come and feed her once a day?

She is a housecat, never been in a cattery.

I'm not sure which is best, any advice or suggestions would be great.

i would go with the someone come in to feed her at your home and stay with her to play or just make a fuss for about an hour or two as she hasnt been outside or in a cattery would be quite stressfull for her

HazleNutt · 17/05/2014 19:37

someone to come and feed, way less stressful for the cat.

Just to add the someone who would come and feed her is like her second mummy. She happily snuggles up with her for cuddles and is always happy to see her. I have to say I'm leaning towards that option because then koothracat gets to stay in her own home. The only thing thats holding me back is that my friend can only come once a day and I would have preferred twice.

she will be fine with once a day especially being an indoor cat anyway she will probably just sleep when on her own, you could ask your friend to put a radio on low for her so there will be voices cats are not needy of attention and human contact like dogs . when i go away my grown up children come in to feed the cats and when i get home they just sort of look at me as if to say oh yer home then wheres our food lol

Your friend coming in once a day is preferable to a cattery. Much less stressful for your cat.

We go for cat sitting service - twice a day visit. Cats have all home comforts etc. We have used cattery before but the cats started to get anxious when cat boxes came out and clearly didn't like car journeys so everyone is happier with home visits! Also find them much more flexible about last minute needs...

Thanks so much, I will have my friend come over then. I didn't like the idea of a cattery but I didn't know if once a day would be enough. Thanks again.
