Cat urine destroyer for lino/radiator/skirting?

My big ol' ginger Lion has a bad habit of sitting in the tray and weeing just over the edge. Its getting ever so pungent in that area.

Is there actually a good product around that works? I've been going round in circles on Amazon and PAH. None seem brilliant going by reviews but there must be something great, surely?

The best thing I've found is biological washing powder/gel in hot water (the enzymes in it break down the smell).

I would. The Snowshoe would. The Lion is twelve and has always been an unwilling user of the tray at best. When we tried a covered tray he just shit on the floor.

Hes always been a grumpy bugger who does things his own way.

Biological washing powder is the only thing that works.

And you might consider an incontinence pad under the tray, or one with a lid/high sides

I hear you. We bought the wrong scratch post.

So he sprayed all over the bed & Dh's sweatshirt.

I took the scratch post back and exchanged it

We tried one of those litter mats underneath but it just stank all the time so it got thrown out. We've got some leftover drynites bed pads from when DS1 was just out of nappies at night, I could try one of those and just throw it away when its full. Mmmmm, a bit expensive but it might save the nice floor...

The tray is quite high-sided. It must be the right one because he consents to use it mostly.

Cats are disgusting swines really aren't they?

Gosh what a fine looking beast. I find Simple Solution from Pets at Home works really well - better than biological washing liquid.

You could also put puppy training pads by the tray to catch the wee. I find them quite good for that sort of thing.

I've tried a lot of products but the blue simple solution for cats from pets at home is the best and easiest to use. I was surprised actually as I had urine off before which had rave reviews but I wasn't impressed. The simple solution worked first time, no effort imo.

Thats two votes for the Simple solution. I saw that urine off had very mixed reviews so decided against that.

We tried different litters, made no difference, his trouble is he is a big boy and his arse just naturally hangs over the edge.

must be pee off mom day today i shampooed all the downstairs carpets today and madam jojo instead of asking to go out sat there and did a big smelly poo in the hall right on my nice clean carpet grrr

Mine sees your poo in the hall and raises you peeing on the dining chair when his tray is 20ft away.

Mine pooed everywhere except the tray for at least the first 5 years. And it wasrunny most of the time. There was a period he slept in a big dog crate so at least the mess was contained.

He grew out of it eventually, his poo is still not very set but at least he consistently poos in the tray or outside now.

You must really love him to put up with that. I hope you are his favourite person.

I'd be annoyed if I had to clean that up and he threw himself at dh every night.

I haven't used one and other posters may know of other versions but if you have the room, that one looks seriously big.

If you use bio washing liquid it's worth going over it with surgical spirit afterwards. I forget why. The vet told me that's what I had to do when my horrid cat was pissing everywhere.

And I'll see your piss on a chair and raise you a cat with a prolapsed bowel hanging out of her arse with a poo still held clamped in the end dragging all over the floor as she ran around wailing. And having to manually remove said poo and push said bowel back in with a finger.

Shudder.

Dh calls him a ropey disgusting excuse for a feline. Then he tickles him and fluffs his fur up which earns him a lazy swipe from his patty paws. Never a claw, just the pads.

That is a big tray, ours is large but not sure if its that long.
