The tortoiseshell and white cat was FABCat. She lived 31.8.96 to May 2013 and I miss her so much. She was the most amazing cat ever to live. In the photo she was 6 weeks old.

My Tortoiseshell is Daisy. Aged almost two and has been with us since May 13 from the rescue place. She is so funny, tiny and I love her so much.

GingerBoy is Tom, came from same place as Daisy, aged 2 and a real softie. He treats my house like a hotel. Has breakfast then goes off foe the day, saunters in miaowing his head off and then goes on a bed for a nap before disappearing again. I hate it. I want them to stay in all the time! Grin. He is so adorable and I love him so much.

They have really helped us after we lost FABCat and the people who abandoned them need to be without food and water for days too.

This is my cat Petit Animale. He is very soft and loving. I love cuddling him and kissing his face. He will be 14 this year!

It's not just his ears which give away his heritage cozietosie! He's the loudest and most talkative cat I've ever come across (including Siamese) - basically if he's awake, he's talking Grin

He and Daisy are mostly ignoring each other - however she really doesn't like him and he doesn't have to do much for her to hiss and swipe at him - there've been a couple of times when he's retaliated and we've had to wade in to separate the warring parties - it's mostly noise though and a couple of scratches but nothing worse. She's become more nocturnal as he's v active during the day and completely conked out at night (think it's too cold for him).

Does he sleep near you or with you? It's just that all my Siamese have - within days of arriving - adopted human patterns of behaviour, sleeping with us all through the night and up (more frequently) during the day. I wonder whether this is also an Oriental thing: thinking you're a semi-human as well. (Obviously they know they're cats..... I think.)

Petit Animale looks like a real cuddler, something - but I'm guessing he also loathes having his photo taken?

Here's my lovely AwkwardCat. She is around about four and a half. We got her from the RSPCA when she was about two. She hadn't been particularly well socialised due to her poor start in life, but she is a delight and is now very affectionate on her own terms (no lap sitting, very little audible purring but lots of flumping onto her back to show off her belly and always seeking out head scritches).

When DH is here he sleeps between us and if he's away Shuri curls up in the crook of my arm - he feels much happier if he's touching one of us all through the night

He's v good in the mornings - not a peep out of him until the alarm goes off

Likely to be a Siamese/oriental thing then. It's one of their ways that I love. (Can you guess I'm not good in the mornings?)

Having said which, The Lodger soon learned that he bearded me at his peril if it was before 07.30. Bright cat.

AwkwardCat loks very inquisitive. Is she a 'poking paws into everything' sort of cat? Pretty girl.

Report
AwkwardSquad · 23/03/2014 15:26

Hi Cozie Smile

She isn't really all that inquisitive. She's very companionable, she likes playing with foam balls and her catnip mouse, and she has a love-hate relationship with a cat from over t'alley. We call him the Masked Marauder. She does like pushing small objects from the top of workbenches etc but so far only pencils and keys have bitten the dust.

Ah. Seeking attention from the humans. (Well that would be my experience.)

Yes, she's good at that. Particularly at 5.30 in the morning, which is when she has decided breakfast should be served (it isn't).

I think it's clear where the balance of power lies in your household, Chicky!

How do you tell them apart, Tabby? Such handsome boys and as like as two peas in a pod.

We multiple cats in the same breed/colour, to us they looked vastly different but other people marvelled that we could tell them apart.

I couldn't from those photos (maybe one boy had slightly more white on his nose) but it's probably possible up close. I still think I'd be hard pushed though to say which one if I came across one lying asleep somewhere.

Cozie, Oscar has a little bit of white on the bridge of his nose, his stripes are closer together than Jumper's and his fur sticks out so he looks like a teddy bear. Jumper's' fur lays flatter.

I know which of them comes into the bedroom at night because of the way they behave. Oscar will jump on one bedside table and have a good nose around licking any plastic bag he finds before walking across our heads to the other one. Jumper will just come right to me and curl up on my head purring loudly in my ear and dribbling. Nice.
