Burglar alarm that won't be set off by our cats?

We need to install a new burglar alarm system in the house we've just moved into. Currently there's an infra-red activated system, but we can't use it as it'll be set off by the cats.

Can anyone recommend a system that will detect burglars but ignore cats? Though they are reasonably intelligent as cats go I don't think teaching them the deactivation code would help Grin

I have an ADT system that doesn't detect the cat or dog, in fact it doesn't detect 5 year boys unless they play with their light sabre.

Our neighbours said you can get cat safe sensors, we haven't yet but we need to.

Confused

Sorry Fluffy - I think that that likely means 'safe against being set off by cats' and not 'can resist destruction by cats'. Wink
