Sad

He has cancer, had a tumour in his foot removed 3 weeks ago - all healed well

It's also (minorly) in his lung, a smallish tumour - not causing any obvious symptoms like panting.

He's on steroids for inflammation and a painkiller.

He stopped eating properly on Saturday, just a few bites since then, just enough to keep going - offered every type of food possible - he would only eat a bite or two while being stroked :(

No bowel movement since Saturday but peeing fine, still drinking water

Went to vet yesterday and they prescribed a appetite stimulant - Internet says very effective

Nothing, not interested.

Started syringe feeding him last night - the AD food mixed with a little water. Gag reflex ok, swallowing fine.

He's not impressed though and he's not getting that much.

He's purring and happy when I'm not forcing it down his neck.

I've got an appointment at the vets in an hour.

Can anyone think of anything I could be doing or asking for?

I think he's trying to leave though I'm not sure why as there shouldn't be any pain and the cancer that we know about isn't giving him obvious symptoms.

He could easily have another tumour elsewhere though as his eye is bothering him and leaking a lot.

Also really surprised the appetite stimulant didn't work.

It's so tough saying good bye and coming to terms with the end of a life time of love, affection, fun and nurturing. My dear old boy and old lady were the beings with whom I spent more of my life than I have with any other living creatures. I had to have them both pts because of kidney disease in their late teens earlier this year and I miss them so much. Like your lovely Bestboy, they used to sleep on my bed, old boy snuggled up in the crook of my arm, old lady bizarrely on one of my knees.

Sending thoughts and hugs to you and your family this evening. I found the Blue Cross pet bereavement phone line very helpful in the early days and would recommend them strongly if you felt in need of support.

So sorry for your loss. It's horrible when we lose these wee creatures who mean so much to us. Flowers
