Cat away for over 24 hours, found down the road, why didn't he come home?

Any thoughts, please?

Is he used to going out? And just how far down the road was he?

thecatneuterer · 07/10/2013 23:30

No idea, unless he was lost. Has he been away for that long before? Did you find him? What was he doing down the road? (sleeping? sitting on a car? making friends with other cats?)

WomanNeedsDivorceLawyer · 07/10/2013 23:33

He is a tart and has found some other mug to feed him.

cozietoesie · 07/10/2013 23:34

Well there is the possibliity of a Six Dinner Sid - you're quite right.

If he'd been scrapping or scared by something into going out of his usual territory he might've been disorientated & thus unable to figure out how to get home despite being close by. Has happened to a friend's cat & was what happened to The Beautiful Auburn Cat from the other side of the park...

As others have said, he might've just been being a dirty stop-out with some other human(s) & you caught him doing the Walk Of Shame.

He was around the corner, about 10 houses away! I am just not sure why he stayed away.

My dd and dh found him but dd and I had already been done the lane twice!

Strange cat! I love him and was so very sad when I though he might not come back. Maybe it was his way of making sure we all knew how special he was!

Poor kitty and poor you. Happy to hear he is home safe. I'm guessing his satnav just plum stopped working..

GerundTheBehemoth · 08/10/2013 08:51

Glad your boy is safely home.

A friend of mine lost one of his cats a while back, got as far as putting up posters etc before he found her hiding in a garden just a few doors up the road. He thought she must have had a scare of some kind. That was more than a year ago and she's never done it since.

itsnothingoriginal · 08/10/2013 13:39

I reckon he was fed somewhere else or he'd made a catch and wasn't hungry?!

Can't remember - has he been neutered yet? Might stop him roaming a bit if not..

ZebraOwl · 08/10/2013 23:17

As I said earlier a scare could've sent him befuddled or I guess he might've managed to get himself shut in somewhere overnight?

Italiangreyhound · 09/10/2013 00:42

He has been nuetured.

He has been very affection since back.

Once he comes in at 6.00 for dinner we just make sure he stays in now. By hook or by crook!
