How to introduce indoor cars to the outside world?

In the next few weeks I'm moving from a city centre location to the middle of nowhere. Currently I keep the babies in all the time. I have a big house and I have no doubt they're happy kitties. However, new house really is in the sticks, on a farm estate with no main road. It seems only fair to let them out. Also, the house has a cat flap so no excuse really.
Plan was to take them out too the lawn on a weekend and let them play, then rattle the food box when I want them back in, but any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Yep that would be the plan

Take them out an hour or so before they would normally be fed so it will be easier to get them back in

And don't forget to lock the cat flap until you have been out with them a few times

Are they all neutered?

It also might just be a good idea to ask anyone you know in the new location what the score is about any kingpin resident toms/potential problems etc. For all you know, the farm manager is a big devotee of rat poison or there might be some hard living local farm dogs who are loose at night. Not that there aren't ways round all these things but you're not dealing with cats who have been raised in a barn so it's as well to know.
