Poor baby off for bollock removal tomorrow - I'm a bit weepy!

I am being silly, I know. He hasn't eaten since six this evening, all will be fine... But I'm a bit scared for him! He's driven 500 miles in the last couple of days with me, so getting him in the bloody carrier will be horrendous.

Please tell me it will be alright!!! I love him so much!

Ah, he'll be fine - I promise.

Ours had his removed two years ago. He was very unchanged after however as the settee arms can evidence.

Nope :-(
I have to ring at 4 to arrange collection. Hope it's all gone ok. I am eternally grateful to the nurse for not calling out 'Scabbers' in the waiting room.

Hope he is alright. Also, only £29 - I think that's quite reasonable, isn't it?

Couldn't bear to change it, though I've just had to put up with three days of my nan calling him "scrabble" as she can't face calling him his real name. It's really grown on me though!

I have rung the vet and she said he's fine but give him another hour before picking him up. I'm going to nip to tesco and buy him some jingle balls for his arrival home. Do I need to be aware of anything when he gets back? No chip for 29 but I will sort that in the near future. Think the price was so low as it was more a farm vet than a flashy vet... Hey ho!

He might be a bit stupidly adventurous (effects of the aneaesthetic wearing off) when he gets back. Silly leaps, continuous walking to 'stay out of danger because he feels vulnerable' etc - that sort of thing. You don't really know how he'll have reacted but I would say that's my most common experience. If so, he'll likely suddenly crash out about 10.00 and sleep through till morning.

Water around and a couple of very modest portions of food over the evening if he wants them. No big platters of roast chicken etc - tonight at any rate. By tomorrow he should be back to normal.

Sounds very positive for you.

Well we are back and he is not a happy bunny. Very lethargic and dozy looking. He's come out of his cat cage though and having a wander around, but defo not the full ticket. I feel terrible. Thanks for the advice, y the way. I have put him on my best velvety cushion.

Thanks! I would be a terrible parent! Well he's asleep with a fluffy towel over him. It was so sweet actually. He staggered out of his cage, noticed one of his jingle ball toys and gave it a half hearted pat, despite obviously feeling rotten!

Ours was up at 7am the next morning biting my toes so I went up to bed. I'd slept on the sofa in case he needed me.

Mine was pretty rough after the op but he's a bengal and I don't think they were nice to him. The vet nurse said she was glad she was on reception when they did the GA.

X a billion. DH still talks about it now,

That's awful, fluffy! What a thoughtless comment from the vet nurse!
Well, we've had a little bit of vomit, just white dribble really. Now he's come over to where I'm sitting and is resting his head on my legs. He just looks totally disorientated, poor thing. I know he will be fine, but it's never nice to see someone you love suffering.

Poor little sod. He just wants to sleep on my chest but just took himself away to vomit again, then missed the litter tray while having a wee. This is so horrible.

It'll be alright, he's woozy and you feel guilty but he only has to have it once.

Is he sleeping with you tonight?

Yep - looks like he had a strong reaction to the GA and is still dopey. Ma y be why the vet kept him just that little bit longer.

No food then and off to bed with you tonight I think? (Be warned, though, that that latter might be setting a horrible precedent!

Hope he's better tomorrow.

Thanks you lot. We are holed up in my room now with the litter tray, water (out of my sodding drinking glass, he loves it from that!) and emergency towels - he usually sleeps with me anyway but I've shut the bedroom door as I can't bear the thought of him falling down the stairs.

He slept for a couple of hours on my chest, so weird, it reminded me of when my baby sister had jabs and was unwell - I was 13 years older than her - felt exactly the same.

Sorry for the over dramatic ness - I'm just not used to this stuff!

Well they may only have one GA in their whole lives so don't worry. With luck, he'll get his head down now and wake up bouncing!

Vet told me to keep my boy quiet when we got home, no stairs etc.

No bloody chance, it was like he was on acid leaping around like he had a firework up his bum! (perhaps that's how he felt, thinking about it lol!) I was waiting for the wound to burst he was that bad.

It often takes them like that - and awful it is having to protect them from themselves. Until suddenly in late evening they just stop, sit there for a moment and pretty well go sideways into sleep.

I was exactly the same when my 2 had it done last week , they were just woozy for a few days though they have not forgiven me

Good morning, kind Cat People!

That was a restless night. He slept like a log until about 3am then decided he wanted to explore and was scratching the door. I let him have a wander round upstairs but had to stand guard at the top of the stairs as he was still not right. Then we went back to sleep and I pissed about on my ipad to get back to sleep. Unfortunately I was reading the details of that awful philpott trial, so when I drifted off I was having horrible, semi-real dreams about that!

Woke up at half six with (sorry) a sack-less behind in my face and a purring baby. He's eaten well and is meowing obnoxiously for me to chuck the jingly ball for him. So all fine!

Now I'm just doing early morning laundry as I need a towel that doesn't have cat fluids on it...
