Pup had his check up today after having colitis (which has improved a little) and he has lost weight
, vet said 'he's not underweight but if he loses any more he will be'. I have been feeding him chicken and rice (2 meals a day and using a little bit of chicken for treats and training), i'm now worried i'm not feeding him enough, i have been a bit anxious about over feeding because of what happens at the other end
. I have been giving him half to 2 thirds of a chicken breast, a handful of rice and a small amount of live yoghurt each day (split over 2 small meals). He is 9.3 weeks old, lab cross collie type dog.
Today i have given him an extra meal (at lunch time) in hope this helps.
Yesterday i tried him with some different treats which are ment for puppies but this made his tummy poorly again
.
I'm worried that chicken and rice might not be enough for him but whenever i try anything else it makes the colitis worse.
Vet has given him some more probiotics, what else can i try to help him gain some weight? he had his last jab today so can go out next week but i'm worried about taking him out looking so skinny.
