Need to rehome our lovely Emmy

Am desperately searching for a loving home for our 2 year old cat. Since having kittens last year, she can't stand to be around her sister, or son - we kept a kitten...and is now only coming home every 2 nights to eat, then go out again. She is affectionate and playful normally, but really needs to be separated from them. She gets on great with dogs and children. Anyone? We are in OXON/BUCKS

Have you had her neutered since she had the kittens?

Before you think about rehoming you should maybe call CPL for advice about what to do, they give some great advice.

Yes had her neutered right after, of course. Was always planning on it, they just pregnant (she and her sister) very young...the tomcat broke in through our cat flap! We were actually thinking one of them must be a boy as we could smell cat spray...had cats all my life and never been caught out like that. I know I could try a cat home but don't want to do that to her, she's alright here, but would be happier in a loving home as an only cat.

Neutering can cause a change in personality in some cats (I've found anyway) so its not uncommon.

That was one determined tomcat that broke into your house. They are terrible around here too. There was about 5 of them in my back garden when one of my girls was on heat and she wasn't getting outside but they still knew somehow.

She wouldn't have to go into a cat home, the CPL will check out potential homes and they keep in contact afterwards, she can stay with you until she gets rehomed, but they may well be able to give you some advice to help her be more settled again so she can stay with you.

Thanks, I will contact them...I had thought I'd have to drop her off and she'd live in some cage until someone came to adopt her! I can't bear the thought of that...yes she went a bit odd after having the kittens, we kept her locked inside and she HATED it, but I was so afraid of her getting pregnant again. She hasn't been the same since. About that tom cat, they didn't even go into heat that I noticed! It was definitely rape...arghhh. Still don't know which one he was.

I think I would try keeping her in, locking catflap and using a litter tray for about 3 or 4 weeks, along with a few feliway plugins, check the bottle and maybe you can spray it on the other two cats I dont know?
