Ok, well I don't have a tape measure, but the dog's tail is about the length of my forearm from elbow to wrist. I believe this is always the same as the length of a person's feet.

I have size 6 feet.

Will measure in the morning but it can reach between his ears, Slinky is a largish Greek boy.

Under 2 inches. He got the tip of it stuck in a door and it had to be amputated, bit by bit. He got over it, though I do sometimes feel sad for him when I look at photos of him with it still attached. It was about 9 inches, I'd say, just for the record.

My cat's tail is also a risible 2 inches or so, another amputee. His tail is very, very strong, as he uses it to balance out the missing leg, too.

Is your cat a pedigree or anything pirate? We got Sparkling Cat from the CPL but people keep asking if she's a Russian Blue. I have no idea, just that she's a lovely colour.

SelkyCat's tail is 12.5 inches. He is 14 years old black and rather affronted at being woken up. He is a big cat though.

ooh we looked and saw black! dd ( expert at 9 and all things cat) agrees with the Russian Blue. Apparently she says they often look like they might be crossed with a Burmese.

Yes she does look a bit like a black cat in that photo. There is a Burmese down the road. We call it the 'Burmese Terrorist' because it ambushed Sparkling Cat and she ended up at the vets.

My cat has never had one, just a funny little stump (neither did his sister!).
I forget about it now as am so used to it and am always surprised when people mention it :)
