Oh no my cat might have eaten something she shouldn't have

She was chewing on one of those stretchy rubber hands you get in party bags. I was just about to remove it when I saw a bit missing. I can't be sure she's eaten it, it could be round the house somewhere but I'm worried.

What should I do? We haven't had her long and are novice cat owners.

How big a piece are we talking about?

Dancergirl · 10/02/2012 10:36

Maybe about 4cm...?

She seems fine this morning

If she seems fine, she probably is...watch her for signs of an upset stomach, not eating or not doing the toilet.

The chances are, it's pinged off somewhere you can't see or if she has eaten it that it'll just go straight through.

My kitten started eating rubbish a couple of weeks ago. He's never done it before and I only knew because some blue plastic er..passed through him.
Since then I've noticed him hovering up all sorts of bits (makes my house sound filthy!). He also started going outside 2 weeks ago and has ended up with dreadful diarrhoea, I suspect from eating something disgusting.
