There are some evil bastards around.
Hopefully the people of Bridgewater will be keeping their pets in.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 07:34

I worry the fact it's in the papers gives people ideas. Sad

I think unfortunately the perfectly sensible publicity around anti-freeze, aimed at ensuring us cat-custodians keep it away from our cats, would give people ideas anyway.

Stupidly, I read some of the comments under that article. I am now going away to kick something (not the cats, obviously).

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:16

I would imagine the culprit has prize begonias or something.

We had a problem with this in my area a year or so back.
Not sure of the total number but i know of 6 cats that died.

It is a sick individual that does something like this

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:20

Did they ever catch anyone Valar? Sad

LaurieFairyCake · 09/02/2012 17:22

It's so awful, such a horrible death.

We need bittering agents in it - it's such a threat to birdlife and dogs too (and toddlers obviously)

ValarMorghulis · 09/02/2012 17:24

I don;t think so. Although everyone in the area knows full bloody well who it was. Angry

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:24

I thought cats were quite intelligent with avoiding horrible stuff to eat. Why are they attracted to anti-freeze, I didn't think they liked sweet stuff?

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 09/02/2012 17:27

They are - it tastes lovely apparently to cats.

I seriously would beat the fucking cunt who's done this Angry

I hate cruelty to animals.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:32

I hate to say this but it would have been less cruel to shoot them. I know that's awful but not a lingering painful death. Sad I still can't get over 34 though. Can't imagine how the owners feel. Angry

OP posts:
ValarMorghulis · 09/02/2012 17:33

They found a plate of chicken breasts that had been cut into chunks and injected with the anti freeze.
It was a deliberate act.

But the police apparently couldn't trace it back to this guy despite it being so fucking obvious.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:43

How crap. And how crap to have to turn your cat into a house cat because there's someone that horrible about.

OP posts:
cminor · 09/02/2012 20:46

But it's from the DM so probably not true.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 20:47

Good point cminor. Let's hope so.

When alive, my Dad lived in Stogursey, the culprit was known but no evidence tho there were several residents more than willing to 'sort him out' sadly our next door neighbours Maine coon was a victim but he lasted 3 wks due to his size :(
