Cats wont stop pooing in the bath and sink!

I have two one year old cats, both neutered boys, and they've always used the litter trays without a problem. Just recently they've started going to the toilet in the bath, just the odd pee now and then and it has just escalated from there. The litter trays are both clean and I've tried various methods but they wont stop and now refuse to use the litter trays and they BOTH use only the sink and bath. I've moved the litter trays into the bathroom, put food bowls in the bath (they just eat all the food and then go to the toilet) and filled the bath and sink up with a few inches of water (they made poo 'soup'...it was disgusting) and I've no idea what to try next, any ideas?

I was going to suggest the water-in-the-bath route, but you've tried that one...
Is there anyway you can keep them out of the bathroom?

I have a 4 yr old DS too and tried that for a while but he always leaves the door open despite me telling him over and over! And the door only needs to be open for a short while for them to run in and poo/pee!

Line with foil? Cats don't like walking on it. Your visitors will look at you funny for a while though...

I had heard about people doing this before to keep cats out of their garden, I'll give it a go Grumpla, thanks!

Tried changing the type of litter as they may not like it? Don't clean bath and basin with ammonia based detergents as this may be attracting them. Use biological/enzyme based detergents instead.

Use more water as they don't tend to like a wet bum.

Try sophisticat clumping gold it stopped ours using the bath after the litter it was using was altered by manufacturer.
