Would an adult cat settle with my cat and dog?

A family member is moving house and has posted on Facebook that her cat will need a temporary home for several months. I have introduced kittens to other adult cats and to dogs, but am unsure whether an adult cat could adjust. I have offered to have him, but would he be better off in the cattery?

If I do have him I assume that you would introduce him gradually under supervision as you would with a kitten?

He'd be far better in a home than a cattery. Gradual introduction to a non confrontational dog should be okay.

The dog is almost 13 and wouldn't confront anything! My cat is 4 and quite shy, but used to fight a little with my other cat who died 2 years ago. My cousin's cat is a Burmese if that makes any difference? I love them but have never had one of my own.
