1.5 year old cat just going out now...I fear I've left it too late

She goes in the garden with DP and stays close by but we know it's time to let her out on her own.

How do we go about this? We don't have a cat flap, what if she doesn't come back by the time we go to bed? Will she be ok out all night?

Does anyone have any tips please?

Fit a cat flap, there more likely to be run over at night. Our neighbours had one in the garage door and I'm sure I've seen glass door cat flaps, it gives them a bolthole, I'd rather my cat made a dash for the house than the road.

Plus foxes do take them, our cousins bengal nearly went but they rescued him.

Some cats are happy to stay in a garden, she might be happy to just sit in the sun all day, they only do what there comfortable with iyswim.

Get her microchipped it makes a world of difference if they go AWOL and go to a rescue centre.
