Hi

my females kitties are now 9mths old.

I am still feeding them kitten pouches but wondering if they still need it (although label on sachet says they should be on kitten food till they are 1)

I just wonder if thats because it costs more Hmm and the sachets are smaller so you have to buy more iyswim.

I have one box of kitten food left and am debating whether to now buy adult cat food Smile

WWYD??

I've had to stop giving our now 5 month old Kitten food, simply because HE wasn't eating it, preferring the normal stuff, but our older Cat was scoffing the lot....& getting fat on itShock

I did ask on here about it, & then later checked with our Vets, as I really don't remember there being special Kitten food when my last Cat was tiny, & she grew to be a HUGE feisty old girl & was extremely healthy until her last year or so....& she was over 20 when she died, so seemed she did okay without it

It does have more calories than the normal stuff & kittens do eat more than an adult Cat, so so long as you are giving them plenty, its fine, our Vet wasn't worried about the Kitten eating normal stuff

I think you can change to adult cat food at 5-6 months, but I don't think it's a hard and fast rule.
