We may need to claim on ours Sad, never have before, and now looking it looks as if we didn't tell them we'd moved house a few years ago. No fraudulent intent, just forgot to inform them, all other details correct. Will this be a problem? Has anyone has this experience? It's with Tesco if that makes any difference.

I don't suppose it will matter unless your cat was hit by a car or something. Obviously since living on a main road increases this risk.

Had a look through the pet policy and can't see any mention of exclusions if you haven't notified them of a change of address.

Oh... actually...

According to the general conditions point 3 outlined in the Policy booklet "You and your pet must live at the address shown on your policy schedule" or "If you do not we may cancel your insurance, a claim may be rejected or payment could be reduced. In some circumstances your policy may be invalid".

It also says you need to tell them 30 days before you move home. Wow, these people are more demanding than my car insurance company. Hopefully you haven't changed vets in this period and you can just lie. Sorry, I shouldn't encourage lying but insurance is a rip off and they'll do anything to get out of paying even though you have paid your premiums for years!

Thanks for that Catherine. We are still with the same vet. I will ring them and play it by ear. As I said, there was no fraudulent intent on our part - we actually live closer to the vet's now, and on a quieter road so even less chance of a road accident (which isn't the issue anyway).

Hey, what happened with this in the end? Did the insurance still pay the policy?
