Cat has been wandering round with his eye shut

on and off this evening. What can I do about it? Bathe it with cool boiled water? It doesn't look gooey or anything, and he doesn't seem to be in pain, he just keeps closing it, then he opens it for a while, it looks fine and then he shuts it again.

Last time my cat did this I was advised to bathe it in cold tea which sounded but it worked, fully functional blinking not winking puss next morn.

Can you look and see if he's scratched it? Ours did that and had to go to the vet for a cream to put on it (although that may not have been entirely necessary)

Have just bathed it with cool boiled water and it is open now, but still not 100%. Will try the tea now. He is being quite accepting of the treatment, and not savaging me, which is good.

Put a bit of salt in the cooled boiled water

The cold tea is great the tannins work as natural anti-inflammatories I recommend it all the time for cats.
