It's not a Christmas present/..we havebeen waiting for DH to stop woking abroad as he wanted to be involved in the joy of new kitty....so do cats actually HAVE kittens at this time of year? We dont want a breed...just a moggy...we would pay a reasonable amount but can't afford a fancy one! ny advice? We are in Cheshire.

Yes you can get kittens most of the year although they are less common at this time of the year and easier to get around Easter.

Kitten list is a good place to start but it mainly centres around pedigrees but you do get the occasional moggie listing.

Adtrader search your local postcode for local adds.

Gumtree results when I searched kitten in Cheshire.

Then of course there is always your local cats protection. If you register with them now you might even get an ex Christmas present cat at the end of January. Yes we all know you shouldn't buy pets for Christmas but it still happens Angry

Yes, less around but you can get them. Our boys were born on 19 November and we were able to take them away from Mum at New Year.

Here is a list of animal rescues/shelters that have kittens available by area.

I was surprised by how many kittens there were at our local rescue when we got our slightly older cat a month ago. They also had quite a few aged 6mths-ish if that would suit more than a tiny kitten.

I have a feral one living with its mother in my garage, but she's so hissy you'd never get near

If you look on CatChat website you will find a lot of local rescues, and there will still be kittens/young cats. If you're prepared to look at one age 6m+ there will probably be some summer kittens who didn't get adopted . . . Good luck!
