Can anyone offer any advice on how best to protect an injured paw, or claw to be more accurate.
My spaniel has managed to rip off his claw. He had it treated at the vet on Friday and it was managed up until yesterday. I could put a boot on it for trips in to the garden.
Now the bandage is off, the boot won’t stay on, not helped by the fact it’s his back paw so smaller than the front. The vet has given me a sock balloon but it’s so hard to get on and off and I’m worried about catching the sore nail bed.
Any tried and tested solutions would be much appreciated.

You can get sock type things that are soft/breathable and tie up sort of over their back (or clip on to a collar) so they don’t fall off. Not very elegant but they do the job. Try Amazon?

Try tiger toe socks - you can get them on amazon. They are much harder to remove than boots and if they are slipping, you can use vet tape to keep them in place. We used them for my previous dog, who had a degenerative condition. We tried boots - the socks are much better.
