Sounds a delightful little dog,

The person you got the dog from might be guessing the breeds if the dog is a rescue, which it sounds like he is?

Waitingfordoggo · 19/09/2026 09:48

Our dog is a rescue from Ireland. The rescue centre didn’t know what breeds he was. They guessed he had some Staffie, because he had a bit of a Staffie look when he was a baby (he was only four months when we adopted him). When he was older, we did a DNA test and it returned multiple breeds- none of which was Staffie!

yes got him from a young couple said they both work so was left alone most of the day. said he'd stopped eating etc. he smells a bit too. but he has meat and dry dog food he eats every bit of it.

Chat GPT says:

This dog closely resembles a Cavachon (a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise) or a Havapoo / Cavapoo variant, but it is most likely a mix involving Bichon Frise, Maltese, or Havanese combined with a small spaniel or terrier breed.

Here are the key characteristics visible:

Maltese / Bichon Frise / Havanese influence: The long, soft, slightly wavy double coat, soft facial furnishings (beard and eyebrows), and dark nose/eyes.

Spaniel or Terrier influence: The tan/cream coloring on the ears and back, along with the head shape and ear drop.

What a shame he was allowed to get into such a state. He will be more comfortable once he is groomed and even more handsome. Our late dog was with us a couple of weeks before he barked!

Yhjan · 19/09/2026 22:28

A beautiful Maltese

Thekormachameleon · 19/09/2026 22:45

koda1968 · 21/09/2026 14:04

Aww, he looks like my dog - a Maltese/Shiz Tzu cross (known as a Malshi!). She's the same colour too.

So sad he was left on his own a lot by his previous owners, they are such velcro dogs and love company.

MiddleAgedDread · 21/09/2026 14:06

I'd say that face definitely has terrier genes!
He's very cute and looking much smarter now 😍

familyissues12345 · 21/09/2026 14:16

Oh he’s gorgeous!
