Dog hot sore paws

Hi!
I have a boxer and he’s always suffered with irritated paws, they bright pink and look sore.
Any top tips?

I’ve cut out chicken and beef, he’s essentially down to fish which seems to have helped somewhat but they still get irritated.

What makes you think it's a food allergy?
I mean, have you had tests or vet advice?
If not, I'd suggest that but maybe try cream first.

Saw the vet Friday she said it’s allergies but being a boxer it’s likely to more than one or two 🙈 she said he done the right thing cutting out chicken and beef and to keep up with piriton twice a day
she also advised it’s best to try and wash them but flip me, anyone tried washing the paws of a wriggly 30kg dogs 😂

How about having a builders tray or tuff spot ready to wash paws after a walk and use licky mats for distraction?
Our two are compliant having a wash and quick groom after their walks but Spaniels not Boxers.
