Dog owners, do you take your dogs to a gig/pub band?

We have a very busy season with lots of pubs and local areas having bands/gigs.

I had to leave a couple of places last night because I was distressed to see people taking their dogs to these. The dogs ears must have been on fire.

I couldnt understand it, small pubs, with very little space anyway, boiling hot and then its as loud as hell

Why on earth would someone do this? Ive seen it before as well, not just last night.

I take my three dogsto many places but never a gig. It would never occur to me to do that.
I have been in our local with our three dogs and a band has come on but we just move to the snug.

Do I do it? No. I despise people and crowds.

Do I understand why people do it? Yes.

Well socialised dogs can handle loud noises and given how hot it has been recently it was probably lovely for the dogs to get out and about in a cooler time of day. It's not 'distressing'.

We used to have a dog and he loved a pub, he loved hustle and bustle

But is not about him being socialised. Its about how that sounds on his ears surely. Thats what would be distressing, its not the atmosphere as such

And when Im talking about very busy areas, there were dogs and their owners trying to get down very busy, thin narrow roads, with traffic having to mount the pavement to get past at times, people spilling out of pubs and venues, dogs can easily get hurt in that environment. We would never have taken ours to anything like that.

I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t get distressed if other people did - all dogs are different and generally I think most dog owners are good people who aren’t going to deliberately inflict pain or fear onto their animals.
