Ringworm?

Inastatus · 12/07/2026 20:37

It could be a hotspot. My dog is very prone to them. It’s basically like dermatitis and can be caused by bites, allergies or trapped moisture.

I agree it's a hot-spot. My first Labrador was prone to them.

Are hotspots wet? It is dry.

Do we need the vet? What is the treatment?

@GooseyGee - yes they can be dry or wet. We’ve tried treating our lab at home for them - bathing with hibiscrub or salt water but tbh we have always ended up needing the vet so I think that your best option.if it is a hotspot the vet will probably also prescribe some steroid ointment for it.
