Muzzle recommendations for a Saluki Lurcher cross with strong prey drive

Hi, can anyone please recommend a muzzle to fit my Saluki Lurcher X? He's the sweetest natured dog but has the typical sighthound prey drive and there are now fawns and leverets in the fields here. Thanks.

I would go with a Greyhound Box Muzzle. Places like Forever Hounds Trust, Kent Greyhound Rescue etc sell them. I have one for my Saluki x Grey (for the vets, nail cutting 🤦🏻‍♀️). To get him used to it I put dog pate etc in to start with, as he really wasn’t keen and built up the time wearing it.

I got a cheap one off ebay. Worked fine.. She is black so I got black. Didn't want people thinking she wore one and was Savage!!

The blue cross have an excellent muzzle training video on YouTube that's worth a look. Any box muzzle that allows for a full pant and drinking is fine.

Thanks all of you

I have to keep mine one the lead if there’s hares about as he’d be off like a flash. I have a long line that attaches to my belt. He’s normally off the lead most of the time
but at this time of year and in some places it just isn’t the right thing to do.

The chase could kill a fawn as easily as the dog actually catching it.

I know and I’m being very careful. Thank you.
