Putting anxious dog in kennels with no preparation

I have to put my Maltipoo (8 months) into kennels this afternoon for a week as I have to travel abroad unexpectedly. She’s an anxious little thing, and literally my lap dog 😭

im so worried that she will think I have abandoned her, or that she will have a heart attack from the stress of it. It’s literally my only option as I have to travel due to family emergency.

i don’t have anyone who would have her such short notice

Will she be ok? Please I need some reassurance 🙏

I look after a dog who is never away from home unless there's an emergency (cancer treatment in this case). She'll have a walk and then will often lie down by the door and wait for her owner to come back. Yours might be the same OP, waiting for you to come get her - and when you get back in a week she will be absolutely over the moon with excitement to see you.
