Dog name ideas?

Rainbowstripes · 14/05/2026 22:00

I've recently had a foster staying with me who is officially a foster fail and is now staying.
All my dogs get a new name when/if I take them on permanently, I know people have mixed opinions on this but for me it's a fresh start and often they've already learned to ignore their previous name.
He's a dark scruffy lurcher, only young but likely will end up being small collie sized.
I was thinking of calling him Oops or Oopsy (I'd literally just said I was having a break from fostering when I was asked to look after him 🙄) and was wondering if anyone had any other ideas (ideally along these lines).
Thanks! 🐾

Fido.
It's a joke name for a dog, but I have never ever met a dog called it!
It means "trusty" or "faithful".

Rafiki - the wise old baboon from The Lion King . Or ZaZu

I also think Martin for a scruffy lurcher is very apt.
