Borrow my doggy

Does anyone have any experience using this? Normally our little dog stays with the same family member on the very rare occasion we go away without her! But we’re planning a holiday abroad this year and family member can’t look after her so looking at alternate options, has anyone ever used Borrow My Doggy and if so what was your experience? Obviously would need to make sure my pup was in good hands before planning a holiday without her

I’ve used borrow my doggy as a borrower. I walked an elderly lady’s dog once a week. I have no experience with dogs but I guarded that dog with my life as I’m not a moron and I understood that the dog is precious to its owner.

Quick update, after 3:months we are still borrowing our beautiful “borrow”. So happy with the arrangement, we buggered off to Greece in June without worrying about our own in in kennels like we used to. Just worried, she would still remember us.She dows and we have had a few adorable stays since. ❤️

I wouldnt leave my dog with a stranger from one of those sites. I just think this is how animal abusers would gain access to animals easily. I would never forgive myself.

And you could have no idea what happened while you were away ; your dog cannot tell you.

Please dont - our dogs trust us and will do whatever we ask of them and willingly go wherever we ask them to... it is up to us to keep them safe 🥺

I know someone who is on that website, I feel so bad for those dogs, she goes out and leaves them they make a terrible noise, I have started recording it. If you are being paid to look after someone’s dog, that’s what you should be doing.

Thank you for all the comments on this, I can update with what we decided to go with; we found a dog sitter on Rover with 50+ five star ratings and multiple repeat customers so I contacted her and met with her initially to get a feel for her (I loved her straightaway and I very rarely like people!). I then booked in multiple dog walks with her initially, progressing to several days of doggy day care, leading up to a trial overnight stay which is happening early September. During all visits she sends me constant photos and videos and gosh my little dog is always so excited to see her. So we’ve gone ahead and booked her for the time we’ll be on holiday in September. It’s cost us a fortune but it is the only scenario that I felt comfortable with, even after our holiday I’ll continue to book doggy day care with her a couple of times a month to maintain the relationship

Don't they have to get DBS/check qualifications? What are they charging for if not?
I wouldn't leave my dog with a stranger unless I absolutely had to , and if so would want a registered, licenced home boarder.
