Beating Hearts Rescue Macedonia

Hi all
I recently lost my much loved English setter, and am looking for another rescue.
I have seen a dog on Facebook, on Beating Hearts rescue, I am a bit wary, as heard a few stories about rescuing from abroad.
Has anyone used this rescue, if so, were they truthful, how was the experience?

I have quite a few colleagues in Central Europe and the western balkans. One of them had their dog ‘vanish’ out of her garden and turn up in one of these rescues. Even though it was chipped and clearly hers, she had a nightmare trying to get it back. It later emerged there’s quite the thing about dogs going ‘missing’ only to turn up in rescues for sale to the UK. They steal them.

And then there’s the fact many are actually bred for profit. And then if you are lucky to get one that’s actually genuine…the lack of aftercare for all the behavioural issues is non existent and usually they lie about the extent of those behavioural issues.

Rescuing from abroad is a.really really bad idea. We have thousands of dogs in this country in need of rehoming.
