Has anyone used Uber Pet?

As I understand it this works the same as a normal Uber with the expectation that you will supply something for (in my case) a dog to lie on and the dog must be secured as per the law. I understand there's an extra charge of a couple of pounds.

Has anyone used this service and how was it?

Yes. Exactly the same as any other uber drive with dog in boot.

PRPrincess in boot you say. My dog has always sat on back seat in my car. Would this be acceptable do you think? Cant imagine many ubers have large boots where shed be comfortable

My DH and his friends have booked these ( friends dog usually goes to the pub) but even if a dog one has been booked and accepted they have often disputed taking the dog once they arrive. She’s a large black lab.
The ones who have taken her have had her on the back seat.

They call it Uber “Pet” but they mean dog. Appreciate that this is in the doghouse section.

I’ve travelled many times with a cat and used a normal Uber.

JustGettingStarted · 20/04/2026 21:03

I've used it, with my chihuahua in my lap.

It's the one major disadvantage of Bolt - no pet option.

TheGoldenOwl · 20/04/2026 23:01

I have used it in London. Didnt know i was supposed to have my own blanket to spread over the backseat. Driver didnt seem to care about that.

I didn't know this - I booked an Uber Pet when I needed to fake my car to the vet - and the driver was actually still a bit shitty about me having her with me! Though he took her in the end.......

Not 100% sure the drivers even realise you are booking them at a premium to take your pet. (Uner's fault, not the drivers')

I could be wrong - perhaps if there are any Uber drivers on here they could tell us.

I was turned down by a normal uber when bringing my cat home from the vet. They turned up and cancelled when they saw I had the cat with me!

Recklessismymiddlename · 21/04/2026 07:00

I’ve used a pet taxi a couple of times, to take my girl to vets, when I haven’t been allowed to drive. (Seizure & another time dizziness).

Many times in Paris and London. Never had my dog secured though, he just travels on my lap.
