Freeze dried raw food - anyone use it?

ChenDog gets a good kibble for breakfast and raw at dinner which really suits him and gives good firm poos (god, the things I find myself posting on this site), but he does get good quality wet food from time to time. Poos are not nice, regardless of which brand he gets, so I was thinking of switching to a freeze dried raw when he's going to his home boarder soon. It will be easier for her to deal with and she doesn't have room for all his raw food. Anyone use freeze dry?

My dog is primarily raw fed but i use freeze dried raw mixed with chopped pate as training treats. I think it's good quality, but it still affects his poos.He is much more consistent on just raw. I do take the raw out in a silicone pouch with a glove a lot of the time😬😬

All you can do is offer it to your dog and see if he will eat it and then introduce it slowly like you would anything else

Oh that's a good idea to use the free dried raw as treats - I'll try that and see how he gets on to start with.

Ours is on nature's menu freeze-dried raw beef chunks. It's weird old stuff, almost like polystyrene, but she really likes it and it suits her tummy perfectly. She's very very fussy and we tried dozens of other foods before a friend suggested this - we really didn't think she'd like it but she's eaten it happily for nearly a year. We have to give her considerably less than the suggested quantity though or she puts on weight.

Thanks @spiderlight , I'll look into that

I tried freeze dried raw once for my raw fed spaniel when I went camping. He loved it but it made him incredibly thirsty which subsequently meant we were up and down all night because he needed a wee!
