My dog died

I lost my dog last week and I'm truly heartbroken. He was old, and he'd been with me nearly all of my adult life. He was so loyal, and protective. My previous relationship was abusive and my dog always tried to put himself between me and my ex (he never got hurt). I just had such a beautiful bond with him. I know it sounds OTT for a dog, and I don't think people in real life understand and just think I'm grieving too much. My question is, I have seen Cluddle clones and other personalised teddies online. I think it would really help, but they're a lot of money. Does anyone have any experience with this and would be willing to recommend a company/person please?

I’m so sorry for you after the loss of your beloved dog, pets are family and people do grieve when their ddog or dcat dies. I do know how that feels and I still miss my lovely and loving dcat several years on.
But can I just ask that you wait a while before taking steps like the one you mention re the Cluddle cloning?
In few months or so you might feel able to get another pet, not necessarily a dog, or on the other hand you might feel you really do want one of the ‘clones’ despite the expense.
But there’s no rush, is there?

Thank you. I think you might be right. I will give it some time, at the moment my mind is just a million miles an hour thinking of ways I can feel close to him! Appreciate the comment and I will give it some thought before I buy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I cried more for my old boy than for close family. He was loyal like yours. Absolutely beautiful.

I got a felted version of my dog. It's so like him. It's very small but it has his expression.

I lost my boy last year. He was the absolute love of my life ( DH understands this) I have lots of pictures, and his ashes are nearby. We will be scattered together.

Give yourself time. Grieving, for anyone, any pet, is not a linear thing.

I swear he visits me in my dreams, and that is a huge comfort. ❤️🐾💐

Depending on the breed there are some amazing dog breed stuffies that can be found online
Most are not hyper realistic but are really very close for stuffed toys and won't break the bank
I have a stuffy that's all most identical to my ferret who passed and it is nice to still be able to have a cuddle and think of him years later
