Hello
I'm looking to buy a raised dog bed for my lab this weekend. @tizwazliz I remember you recomended a brand a couple of months ago but I can't trace the post. I'd been considering hik9 but I remember that the one you recomended you'd found that your labs prefered for stability. I looked up the beds at the time and decided to get one. Just getting round to it now. Can't trace the retailer now. Could you remind me of the brand name please? My lab weights 5.5 stone so stability will matter to him.

Tagging @tizwozliz for you.

I bought a Veehoo raised bed off Amazon. Can't really say if I'd recommend it or not, as the ungrateful sods don't use it. Next doors cat used to like it though.

We have one for our golden retriever it was a cheapo of Amazon, we also have a hik9 one with a nice cover but it is too big for the space and he prefers the smaller one, so do the cats it’s the bedsure raised bed, our retriever is a big boy and it is sturdy enough for him

Mine loves her hik9 too. We have the mesh base for cool summers and a freckle cover for the winter.

Ours is a veehoo chew proof bed that came from Amazon but they don't seem to have in stock at the moment. My pups like to do their drying dance on top of it so it gets well tested. Veehoo do other styles but I don't know how they compare.

We bought a cheap raised bed from either Aldi/Lidl to keep at the allotment and that only lasted a couple of months whereas our veehoo one is years old so it's definitely worth spending a bit extra. Although that was also my rationale with the hi K9 one and that's been dismantled and put in the loft!

Thanks everyone, for the tag, information and recomendations.

I'll order a Veehoo from Amazon.

The chewproof one looks perfect, I wish it were available, but I'll try a different Veehoo one while its not. The ones with side bolsters look so comfy but chewable. At least if chewed the bolsters are removable and bed could still potentially be used without. Not sure about the corner gaps though (without either the chewproof edging or bolster) in case my dog's toe / nail got caught in the gap getting on or off.

But one step at a time, I'll try it with bolsters and see how it goes. If I need to remove the bolsters I could try to cover the gaps with another type of cover.

What an absolutely beautiful photo. Both dogs look the picture of health and contentedness there.

I think it depends on personality. HiK9 definitely worth it if your dog is a jumper - they don't have a gap in the corner that feet can get caught in. If they're not a jumper, that won't matter and a cheaper one will be fine.
