Best vacuum for dog hair

I currently have a green hoover and it does a decent job. It's really heavy though and vacuuming the carpets is hard work. I have a chronic illness which makes it painful. When we got our lovely but hairy dog my husband did all the hoovering but he has now left. I need something reasonably light weight, easy to push and to carry up and down the stairs. If it's reasonably cheap that's a bonus too!

Bosch is good for pet hair. I have used a similar model to this one:

It's not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive either. It is light and cordless.

I've done a bit of looking around on the internet and this one looks like and is handheld. Perhaps not as robust as some other models but might suit. I have no experience of using it though, just found this review:

I have a Miele C3 for pet hair. It's the second I've bought. The first lasted about 13 years and I liked it enough to buy the same again.

In truth, the newer model isn't quite as good as the original; it doesn't feel as durable (as with everything these days, the quality is not where it used to be), but the performance is still great. I've had it 2 years now and still going strong, though I don't think I'll get to 13 years with this one.
