Hi all
do I need to take my dog to the vet if I think he has a tick? It’s a small wart like bump on his groin.
I am upto date with his treatments from the vets
flea worm and tick

Have you got a tick remover? A few quid and worth having... We keep 1 in the car!
If your ddog has tick meds I think they die and fall off pretty quickly.. Might be wrong and they still need pulled out. Google told me my vet charges £25 so we learnt to DIY..

Upload a pic if you can. Could be mud or a wart!

Ticks ime are very dark... Full of blood. Grim.

Its not very clear, but yer they are usually darker and you can sometimes see the head attched into the skin

could be a growth if an older dog

I can't tell if that's a tick from your picture. Have a close look, there should be a small black body near the skin with legs, and then a larger bit which fills up with blood on top of that. The bit that fills up can be quite gray in colour sometimes. If it is a tick you can remove it yourself with a tick remover. But if you don't think it's a tick then get it checked at the vets. A tick feels like a small lump when you stroke your dog but I wouldn't say it looks anything like a wart.

It’s the wrong time of year for ticks. It looks like something that should be checked by a vet.
