Injuries inflicted or caused by your dog

I have a much loved idiot of a dog (hound, almost 60 kg) and until recently the worst injury I'd had was a bit of shoulder soreness, mildly black eye and sore head after headbutting me.
In the last 2 days however, he's given me a concussion (dragging me into a tree when chasing a squirrel, despite being on a dogmatic halter) and then the next day a torn tricep and re-injured rotator cuff, due to pulling me after another squirrel in a strange direction.

I would definitely think twice about getting a genetically predisposed chaser again and certainly one of this size.

Please make me feel better with similar stories of woe.

4 dogs and zero injuries. Although it Def helps that all the dogs were 3-4kgs, I am basically Godzilla in comparison!😂
Plenty of war wounds from the cats I've owned in the past though. Cats don't have the destructive capabilities of a big dog but those claws can still do some serious damage!

Broken wrist... I was picking up a poo, with dog on lead, she spotted a squirrel and I went down with a bang. Everything went black for a moment and then I came round to find my dog standing over me. I finished the walk clutching my arm and went to A+E a couple of hours later when I realised it really was broken!

Dragged face first up a stream like a Mr Bean comedy sketch. We had gone to the stream for a drink, she spotted two fox cubs! Obviously I didn't dare let go of her long line so hung on, grimly... lost my balance and was pulled about 20 meters face first. Scraped face, sopping wet and lost dignity walking home😂

Long leads cause a lot of injuries it seems.

I'm never going to use one for that reason. And to be fair, haven't needed them for my previous 2 dogs so don't expect to need one with the latest puppy.

I also have a 60+kg dog.

When he was about 9 months old (so just under 50kg I think), he pulled DH over when an off-lead dog approached our child. I grabbed the lead, he lunged again because the off-lead dog again approached our child, pulled me over landing full-force on my knee which has caused permanent nerve damage.

Other than that, we might get the odd scratch if he's due a nail-clipping, and the tail does hurt when he's excited but doesn't leave bruises. It seems we've been pretty lucky!

Actually, I got pulled over again a year later with another off-lead dog getting too close to our child. Wasn't hurt that time though.
