Dog Showing Advice

So I have no experience of showing but have bought a very good pedigree puppy and have started Ringcraft classes.

Puppy will be six months old at end of April. I’d love to show him and am eyeing up the online entry for the National Championship show at Stafford in May. He’s eligible for lots of classes. I’m assuming picking a couple is better than entering about 7. But which ones to pick. Puppy? Minor puppy? Junior? Open? Special beginner?

he’s a vulnerable breed so probably not massive numbers for his breed classes.

enter one or two. Minor puppy and puppy. Special beginner or stakes if there is one.
If you haven’t done this before it will be exhausting for you and puppy. There is a lot to observe, learn, experience, take in.

your ringcraft club should be able to advise and support, particularly on the day.

The alternative is to enter NFC and go experience together then you will be better prepared for future shows.

Thank you. I’ll just do puppy and minor puppy I think then. Should be a fun day.
