Dog is very bonded to DH, I’m definitely the spare. We were both ill over Christmas so I decamped to the spare room. She trotted upstairs, looked at both rooms and then trotted to sleep on the spare bed with me and stayed there a week. DH was put out, I quite liked it. What was going through her little head?

I'd try swapping who's in each bed and see if it's the bed or the person she prefers. And if she still follows you I'd gleefully gloat until the end of time.

you leave more space?
my dog sometimes likes to share dd's bed despite being my dog,
more comfortable bed probably

@dablabI suspect you’re right, it’s the bed not the person. Don’t want to test it out though as I am, indeed, gleeful to the end of time.

Animals know when you're unwell.

Our cat sleeps on the bed she prefers no matter who's in it. She also likes sleeping near ill people. Presumably they're warmer.

She didn’t want to catch what he had, or coughing etc would disturb her sleep 🤣
