Leaving new greyhound alone for a few hours. What's worked for you?

Soon to adopt a retired racer and can't wait! She's gorgeous, been in kennels so will need some help with housetraining and getting used to all that goes with living in a house.

We won't be leaving her alone for the first few weeks and then only for 3 hours max. As greyhounds are so special and quirky in their ways, I'm hoping for some tips on the best and kindest ways to introduce her to being left alone. What's worked for you?

I used to have an ex racer. My advice is take everything off the worktops that you don’t want to end up in their bed. Don’t expect them to be house trained when they first arrive.

i think for getting them Used to being left maybe while you’re at home the first few weeks keep popping out. Ten mins, 20 mins. They get used to you leaving. Though as an older dog and an ex racer who’s been in kennels they should be used to being left. Maybe leave a radio on?
