Advice/Tips on needing to train older pup.

I’m taking a 6 month pup in a few days. I don’t want to go into details but it’s an emergency situation. Depending on how it goes we may keep him or may foster him until he finds another home. (Being honest I’ll probably keep him) I’m a very experienced dog owner but I’m used to older dogs not pups. Pups give me the fear and I’ve only had 2 before and I’ve forgotten everything about toilet training and he isn’t trained.

To make matters worse I’ve just moved to a flat, ground floor thankfully and there’s plenty of green space just outside and he’s a small dog but it isn’t ideal.

Any advice/tips would be much appreciated.

TIA

Take him out very regularly and use a key word for his toileting - repeat it as he’s doing it, praise effusively and treat him.

Brilliant. Thank you. Hopefully he’s a quick learner.

What breed is your dog? Some breeds are happy to learn, others more disinterested. If you tell us what your breed is, informing may be more pertinent.
