I want to get a pencil drawing/sketch done of my dog and framed as a Christmas present for my DH. Overwhelmed by all the online companies offering this service and don't want to end up with something rubbish. Has anyone used a company/website they can recommend? Looking for it to be done from a photo.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, thought that dog owners might respond!

I suspect you've left it a little late to find a good artist. The better pet portrait artists are booked up months in advance, particularly for Christmas commissions.

Oh... May have to rethink then - birthday next year maybe.

Hi

this lady did a beautiful pencil drawing of my dogs [email protected] You might be too late for Christmas though.

Look on Yappy.com
You can personalise things with your dogs breed, name etc. Good gift ideas.
We’ve got excellent watercolour images of our last 2 dogs but as PP said best artists get booked up.

Thanks for the replies. There are some online who promise a quick turnaround but I'm guessing they're not that good.

Be careful as a some of the cheaper/faster ones tend to be digital images or a filter added on your own photo. Not saying that’s rubbish necessarily- just a different thing. I’m actually an artist so giving advice here rather than promoting myself. Pricing can vary massively depending on the artists expertise not necessarily their skills. If you like the style of their work and it’s in budget - go for it. I’d say look at the latest dozen paintings gs they’ve done and look for consistency. Finally ask that they use professional grade materials not student/hobby grade materials- else drawings and paintings may fade. If you’ve left it to Kate, sons of them do gift cards. Happy to advise further if you’ve left have any questions x
