Pet passport - any idea of when it will be (re)introduced?

Following on from the announcement earlier this year that the EU pet passport will be avaiable again for us in the UK is there any further information available about when it will be introduced?

Doing a google search I cant find anything but wondered if anyone had heard anything about introduction dates?

We are contemplating travelling to France next year with dog for the first time and am hoping that it will be available to ease travel.

How is the situation now: if it is not available next summer is it easy to find a vet in France to do the tapeworm procedure before returning to Britain? Would there be walk in clinic type places available or is it a book appointment at local vet arrangement?

Also any advice on travelling with dog on the tunnel? By the looks of it its fairly easy but any tips about best times to go etc?

All vets do the tapeworm procedure + certificate, so it won't be an issue at all.
In summer, I'd advise to get the appointement well in advance, I generally always do it quite last minute, but summer is special in France, a lot of clinics will be closed for a few weeks and therefore have a bit of backlog. This said, 10-15 days ahead is generally totally fine at this time.

You have to do the tapeworm treatment irrespective of whether you travel on a pet passport or AHC. So the re-introduction of pet passports makes no difference.

Join this Facebook group. Everything you need to know, including the tapeworm treatment window, and a map of vets. Lots in France
