Dog has started peeing in the house

My previously house trained dog has started peeing in the house. She doesn't bark to go out, she simply squats wherever she is and pees. This has been going on for a while, but was better in the summer when the back door was open and she could run in and out all day. We have reverted to puppy training techniques, taking her out frequently during the day, when she wakes up, after she has eaten, after playing and it has improved. She is 5 years old, neutered, slightly overweight.
Checked out by the vet, no UTI or other physical causse found. We have another female dog and I am wondering if it is scent marking/dominance? I'm at my wits end cleaning up dog pee and despite this, my house is beginning to smell less than fragrant.

Propalin drops from the vet will work.

if she’s drinking a lot more it might be a kidney or liver issue. Get her slimmed down in case it’s diabetes. less food more walkies.

When I was training a rescue dog of two I read that the door open doesn’t necessarily work, as a shut door makes them ask and learn to ask and learn the difference about peeing outside and inside and the procedure

if it’s only a splash it could be marking

is there anything about the outside that’s changed? Recent fireworks?? 🧨

Propalin as mentioned by PP is for incontinence issues, common in older neutered female dogs. Our dog takes this as she was leaking urine when she was sleeping.

I'm no expert but if she's actually squatting and urinating this sounds more behavioural/ stress induced?

My cat started doing it recently. I was told it was because of the bad weather - rain pelting down and hammering down of the conservatory roof. It made him scared to go out.
