Dry robe rip off?

Hi
Autumn is well and truly here, and I’m looking for a new long dog walking coat to keep dry and warm!

We normally pootle about sniffing (so not much marching - no chance of getting hot and sweaty!) so like the idea of dry robe (but not their price 😂)

Does anyone have anything similar?

bonus points if you’re tall and said coat goes past the top of your wellies!

currently wear a ladies musto long coat which leaves a couple of inches at the bottom (so below knees gets wet 😞 but I am 6’ 😞😞)

Thank you 🙏

Lots of companies now sell dry robe type coats.

i have a regatta one, love it.

muddyford · 19/10/2025 15:44

Lands End have them jn in the sale, £62.

HonoraryScouser · 19/10/2025 16:40

Not sure if they're still selling it, but I got a dupe from Tesco a few weeks ago for £45 I think!

I’ve got the Regatta one as well, but bought it on Amazon as it was cheaper. Love it.

Has anyone seen a dry robe or similar without a zip, ie just wrap around? I haven't mastered the art of bending and remaining straight at the same time in order to pull a zip up from the bottom. I have a toy dog who needs to go outside often to pee etc., and getting my otherwise fabulous warm (zip-up) winter coat on takes too long.

Runnyyolkplease · 23/10/2025 22:46

I don’t understand why people choose dryrobes for dog walks - they are heavy, bulky and not waterproof. They are designed for getting changed under after swimming.
if you want a waterproof coat then look at drywalks

Same height as me, I bought the Mountain Warehouse version of DryRobe, it’s plenty long enough and I paid £45. Fab for walking daft dog.

I have a copy dry robe from Go Outdoors, it’s been superb. Totally disagree with @Runnyyolkplease in the last week I’ve been caught in the heaviest of downpours, sheeting rain and it’s kept me totally dry, wish I had one for the dog as she was soaked 😂

cestlavielife · 23/10/2025 23:16

Some have velcro or poppers so you can close without zipping eg Beaufort Navy Changing Robe | Navy Dry Coat | D Robe – Delta Roam share.google/1ZKCIRj6UcUOAmQHp

Mum2twoandacockapoo · 23/10/2025 23:20

My friend who is a dog walker had the Tesco one last winter and she wears it all the time and loves it . Shes ALWAYS cold and spent most of summer in it aswell so it must keep her warm .
Wait til the 25% off with your club card is back if you need to save even more money :)

Great, thankyou.

Sainsburys had a cheap dupe.

I have a dry robe and it’s 100% waterproof. It also gets very cold in the winter so is perfect for my dog walks and I walk 5-7k.

What on earth makes you think they’re not waterproof?? 😄 Of course they are! Many many hours stood on a rain soaked touchline can attest to how totally waterproof they are!

ThatsNotAKnife · 24/10/2025 07:40

Not a dog walker but I have a mountain warehouse "dry robe" for parkrun marhshalling in winter or walks with friends when I'm not dashing along. It's very warm and dry.
Takes up so much space on the coat hooks but it's worth it.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/10/2025 07:44

Genuine DryRobes are waterproof.
Some of the dupes are not.
Some of the dupes are very good.

Runnyyolkplease · 24/10/2025 08:36

Not a dryrobe hater 😂 I have one and use it for its intended purpose - getting changed under after swimming. There are much better options for dog walking - paramo, Ridgeline, drywalks (who also do matching dog coats) to name a few!

TardisDweller · 25/10/2025 11:38

I've also got the Regatta one which i bought on Amazon very cheaply. It's great, it covers me completely and it's waterproof and cosy without being heavy.
